How is conductivity measured and read?

The amount of electricity in a solution is measured in mhos. Most modern meters account for the temperature of the water sample and the distance between the two electrodes; the result is expressed as mhos per centimeter at 25 degrees centigrade. 100 mmho/cm is equivalent to 1 mS/m, which stands for one micro-siemens per meter (this being the standard SI unit of conductivity).
